House Votes Yes on Stimulus..

The House voted yes on President Obama’s stimulus plan.. of $819 billion, but despite overtures from President Obama to Republicans, he received zero support from across the isle. The bill passed 244-188, with eleven Democrats voting, no.

Clearly the president has something to celebrate during his first week in office, but given his outreach to seek bi-partisan support, and Republicans voting no, he fully understands that in response to his hand shake, he received a clenched fist.

Thus far, it would seem nothing has changed on Capitol Hill– at least not yet. Without a doubt, Mr. Obama has work to do, and if we are reading this picture right, the GOP is not ready to play on his terms.

Apparently, President Obama intends to press on, reports are that last night he hosted his opponents at a White House. Politics is largely about public relations– making friends and influencing people; one can only wish the President’s efforts to attract that ‘wide’ support will pay off.

So the big question, however: Will the GOP support the bill as it moves to the Senate? When does President Barack change his strategy, realizing playing the bi-partisan game, could prove to be more difficult than it appears?

A victory for the President? Yes! It came, however, from the usual source– The Democrats! In the coming months expect to see the drama increase… this represents only Round One. So will the President back off… or increase his attempt to ‘woo’ Republicans?

If Dick Army’s is an example (see video) of what’s to come, President Obama has a very steep hill to climb getting his mandate for ‘Change’ implemented. So stay tuned… the show continues!

President Obama has started on a very positive note, reaching out to members of the GOP. They all voted against the stimulus package however. It seems as if memebrs of the GOP still wish to be in the gridlock mode. What I really want to know is, don’t they know that they should be the first ones voting for this bill, given the facts that the previous administration never seemed even to have a wind about the “R” word that was a reality since 2007 but was denied all the way.come on GOP people help the American people especially those who are in need. I sincerely hope that helping people who have been directly affected by the mortgage melt down and the high mortgage rates will be a priority in this stimulus package.
