President Obama: His Time to Walk on Water?

The unemployment figures for this week have been grim, 7.5 percent of Americans are out of work. In the inner cities, undoubtedly that number is about 10-11 percent. Forget ‘their statistics’! Something must be done, and soon, to save us. But at this moment, the proposed Stimulus package is still being debated in Congress. It would appear, the President’s attempt to seek support from Republicans on this critical issue, is slow in coming… I wonder, will it come at all?

Given the state of our economy there is so much at stake.. one wonders, what will it take President Obama to impress his detractors that short of doing some ‘spending’ to stimulate the economy, things in the marketplace could get worse?

I say, he may just have to walk on water.

So will “That One” be able to….. as a mortal? Despite concerns that he has been AWOL since he took office (just about two weeks ago), a month from now will there be a compromise on the $780B stimulus package? Did you notice, the number keeps decreasing?

The debate continues… but like the president when I hear that 600,000 jobs were lost in January, I say to Congress ‘ cut the fat, trim the fat’… but they need to move now!

As a country we have hit bottom.. in a recession, and its time to for that WAVE to LIFT ALL BOATS. The Senate votes on the package this coming Sunday.. but do we have any reasons to be hopeful? Will the voices of ordinary Americans be heard ? Join the conversation. Its your turn!

It is of absolute importance that the stimulus bill be passed and signed into law. We the american people need it. Ordinary americans have been doing extraordinary things for a long time. Now that the economy has tanked we need to help it before it goes bust completely. The time is running out and politicians who are only focused on doing for selves will always be remembered by us the people. The time is now pass the stimulus package now.
When the 750 billion dollars was given out to the Secretary of the treasury around October to November I didn’t hear anyone clamoring for accontability or transparency. Now that it is clear that the american people ( ordinary ones ) need help all the regulations are coming into being or rather all the questions. When the money goes to the banks and Wall street no questions should be asked but when the ordinary american needs help put all the nhindrances. We are arising from our slumber.
