President Obama: Moves "Right" to Unite..!!

“In times like these we need to unite and on behalf of the American people.” You, me have heard  that time and again, and particularly from the GOP who constantly accuse the president of not attempting to work with them. So yesterday he took a bold step.. attending their conference and in a QA session, answered their questions. Take a look.

Declared as the most ‘liberal’ president by the GOP, president Obama in a stellar moment in American politics moved  ‘Right’  into GOP territory to answer their questions. There were some great exchanges. Direct and unfiltered. The president was outstanding. Apparently enjoying the format… and an opportunity to make ‘nice.’

Yes, he reached out. But will it change anything?  Absolutely not. The GOP given what I sense will continue to say they have been left out of the process.  Despite the President’s attempt to be a uniter’ Republicans will continue their tactics for a come back during the mid-terms, they are busy solidifying their base, teabaggers and all.  Nevertheless this was a good start– for politicans (The GOP and the president)  to turn a new page.

Yet,  don’t be surprised if nothing changes. The partisan approach to solving issues of concern to the nation.  Why?  A great deal of ‘sludge’ still circles the Capitol. Legislation moves, NOT.  At best, a bare trickle.

However, join the conversation, chime in!   Was this a great idea on the part of the President? Want to see more of this? Or is the president waisting his time at reaching out– as many in his party thinks?

This was a stellar moment for the President when he attended the Republican caucus meeting and took and answered questions. It is absolutely delightful to see a leader leads and the President is sure doing that. I would like to see more of this format in terms of how elected officials interact with one another as they discuss the people's business. It was the people who voted for them in the first place why they got there. So I sincerely hope that not only will the GOP'ers inetract with the president, but that they will make it their business to know the needs of the constituency that send them there and legislate accordingly. To both sides I say kudos. Keep it up and again do the business of the people who sent you there or face their wrath.

Well, I knew POTUS was going into the lion's den and I did not know what to expect. However, I need not have worried. Will the Reublicans continue an obstructionist stance? Yes, however, it will be their Waterloo in 2010 and 2012. They still don't get the idea that what is good for the county will be good for them too.

The job crisis is crucial and spinning out of whack. Even though unemployment went down last month, there are many out there who just stopped job hunting. If there is no food for you or your family, Democrats or Republicans will get no trust from the masses. Yes, Washington needs to be fixed, but jobs come first.
