Congressman Charles Rangel (D-NY). goes on ‘leave’ after allegations of violating House Ethics Rules. Does this represent a ‘prologue’ of what is to come for seasoned Democrats on the Hill? The 20-term veteran politician has been under the gun for months from GOP members who have been after him to resign after it was reported he failed to pay taxes on property he owns in the Dominican Republic.
Now even Democrats within his party are calling for him to step aside. In a year that President Obama needs the vote of every progressive Democrat.. it would appear another shoe ‘drops for Democrats. One vote less to count on –as the’going gets tough on health care reform.
