We have been wooed and inspired by the President in his most recent SOTU address that
” We can do Big Things”. Yep in articulating an agenda for the future he encourages us to:
Out build, Out educate and Out innovate our competitors.
Our love for America has proved to be exceptional, we know what it means to dig in and fight. Now we must look to future so as re-gain most of what we have lost. But at what cost? Do we look to a Senator Rand Paul as the man with a Plan? Or to President Obama who reminds us that despite our “warts” we still have the ability to grow and out-shine those who may see us a failing society. India and China still looks to model us. And still remains at a distant. Time writes on the President’s optimism. Will it spread like wildfire? We must, however, as a nation decide collectively to look forward/backward, decide in what direction we go. The future– remains in our hands.
In short, his message was and remains: Innovate or Die! ” Such a call begins with our re-claiming our economy and putting our country back to work (the middle class in particular). Jobs are scarce all around; but in communities of color, (Black and Hispanic in particular) the numbers are going through the roof. America will not recover unless this segment of the population gets a chance to participate fully. Joblessness crosses all social classes– from the high school drop-outs to the college educated. Our communities are no different.
Yes, we can do big things. Lets find a way to protect our seniors and the least able among us. The challenge however, remains at finding a winning formula. That said, would I rather move forward with President Obama or go backwards with a Rand Paul? My choice is clear. The future is now.
Join the conversation! Here or at Facebook Together we can out -shine and out think those without a vision. Lets move to get the job done. Yes, despite where we are now We CAN DO BIG Things.
