Romney Throws ‘Mitt’ into Race: Any chances for Mr. Charisma…?

Candidate Mitt Romney
Finally, in Mitt Romney does the GOP have a candidate to bring home the bacon? Take back the White House. Make ‘Red’  not  Blue– the color of the states?
Irrespective of how it looks for Romney, entering the presidential race for 2012 will be playing hard ‘ball’ at best. President Barack Obama surely looks to be in  big trouble as we think the economy, but  given what he pulled off in 2008,  making him a one term president will not be easy. It will be a cool, stiff, strategic fight to end.
Yet, here comes former Governor Romney, Mr. “No Charisma”, who believes he’s got a ‘mitt’ with a ball to land Barack Obama a TKO.  But does he have the goods to deliver?
He gives the  president an “F” on the economy and  that’s all he’s done thus so far. But although seen as the front runner with a ‘lot’ of money, let’s not forget what happened in the 2008 race  when he had what may be described as ‘limited’  run.  Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) came from behind to emerge as the candidate for the GOP.
With former Governor, Mike Huckabee, out of the race (for now?) Romney has a chance to show/tell us what he’s about.  Nice guy, dresses well.. crisp and ready as we think lights, camera, action– however, there is no feel that he wants to be a part of a campaign, at least this time around. Yet, he’s thrown his hat into the ring. When will he get fired up and in the process bring us along?  I like a horse race; and can see none from the GOP line-up that entices me to follow around that  proverbial bend.  So is Romney  just  ‘declaring’  because he’s expected to? Throwing a ‘mitt’ for the sake of it?
In short, is candidate Romney in this to play a game or give us solutions that  include America’s middle class?  As voters we are looking for more than the ‘least objectionable’ in a candidate.  So does he provide us more to eat/digest than the mere politics of the game.  More than the last time around?
Haven’t heard it yet.   Have you?
Yet, as one who believes in the two party system and look forward to be engaged as November 2012 elections approaches,  I want to see Romney with some fire in the belly.  He needs to engage ‘us’.  Yep, he will have all the money he needs (he’s a millionaire) but the last time around, those $$$s didn’t get him far. John McCain struggled  to have enough money, but eventually left Mitt along the road– out of the race!
So Mitt add some charisma, be comfortable on the Stump and possibly you could pull  more Independents and liberals over. More than you think. Who knows?
But until you knock: Newt, Paul, Pawlenty, Santorum… possibly Michelle Bachmann out of the race, you wont have a chance to even get close to Obama. You may only have that chance when you decide to tell us what you intend to do as a social/economic conservative to bring persons like myself along.  We have not heard such a message yet.
Be warned–emphasizing deficit spending with  continued tax cuts for the rich is not a hook– that will ‘hold’.
So Governor,  show us that you are more sophisticated than  the every day  political novice  and with a platform that has appeal beyond your conservative base.  By showing us that with flare –makes wanting to hear your  arguments on many issues, starting with the economy more interesting. Warning: keep the Slash and Burn politics for last.
