Thank you for your article. I found it to be onpoint regarding the President and the now elected running mate for the GOP. The fact that Mitt Romney keeps running away from statements he previously made is something to be concerned about. As much as I see or experience problems with the situation with the economy, someone who keeps espousing a new idea everytime does not attract me. One has to have a vision for the country, state it and let the populace examine those ideas and see how it would put the country forward. All well thinking people now know that one should always be evolving for the better. Having said that it takes one with a strong spine to push forward or think ahead. America needs the biggest visionary at this time and I do believe President Obama has bee trying hard to sell us this idea. Mr Romney state your platform and vision for America and I will look you over with new interest. Thank you.

Got to get this corrected. Had to scroll all the way down beyond verna's profile to leave a comment.
But Tee thinks Obama must start with executive orders. he has options must use them.

The GOP --as in Teaparty conservatives must keep looking. Just can't figure why with eight (8) candidates vying in line-up to be the party's standard bearer..they are still looking to find a new face. Time for them to settle for 'veges' on their plate. Sorry, this is best is going to get. Right Mitt!

With the 'goings-on of Speaker Boehner, Cantor and the rest of the GOP in the House we wont anytime soon see anything making sense coming from their caucus.

Watching closely on the debt ceiling. Can only hope these 'fools' wont contribute to bring this country to its knees.

John, Eric time to stop the nonsense. Show us some leadership for a change.

Republicans its time you realize that if you want to have a mere glimpse of the white house you had better start showing signs thatyou on that side have some concrete answers to the job situation. We know you haven't seen a war you didn't like and war eats up money and economies.
This said we need jobs and The President alone cannot do it. Afterall we elected people on both sides of the aisle to propel America forward. Two sides make up a government and we are depending on you both to fix some of aMERICA'S PROBLEMS AS THE century moves on. I call on the Congress to also start prepare a bill to make the tax laws fairer to everybody. The present tax laws need much to be desired. Those at the top and even some in the Government don't pay their fair share but regular people are bombarded everyday.
Suggestion, come up with a consumption tax that would cause everyone living or visiting America to pay This would cast a wide net and would bring in more revenue at a steady pace. Reform the tax laws now and jobs, jobs, now of face the consequences.

Here we are another Independence day weekend. I feel as though President Obama has been President for about 12 years. He has had so many problems, not made by him but rather obstacles placed in his pathway. I can only encourage him to stand firm, don't continue to give away the store because the GOP members have no interest in ordinary people. That's why many start off Democrats and end up being Republicans. Note that this happens after many, now in government, parents had the help of unions, steady paying blue collar jobs. but now they have arrived and want to burn all the bridges that heled them get over. How selfish and uncaring. Things are very hard but do remember people that there is a force greater than man in the world who every now and then get our attention when we overrun things.President Obama we in the black community have the highest unemployment numbers. What are you doing to help us? I hope you do not forget how we showed up in 2008 to support you first and then ourselves. It can be stated that you have attempted to address every groups agenda but ours. I trust you won't self destruct because we have needs too especially as we showed up at the poles like we did. I haven't given up on you because I know it has been very hard on you and your family but know that we also hold you accountable to address our needs like any other Preasident. We are vigilant president, please know that.

President Obama it has been a difficult Presidency so far, but I sincerely hope that you will no longer loose sight of home, the domestic front.
Wars are too destructive and when the unemployment rate is about 25-35% in my community I am sure distressed. Why did we go into Libya when the Libyans seem satisfied with their government or the Colonel as Mr Ghadaffi is called.Hell is being raised in Syria and no body is contemplating going there. I wonder why do we have so many unfathomable standards. Some places like Darfur the women and children and raped and abused and noone goes to their aid. In Libya a few may be crying out and America plus Nato forces are destroying their country. It seems not so long ago that I saw The Colonel visit the White House. I'm sorry but I'm afraid of retribution. This idea that we must destroy people's country without much thought I know will not lead to them liking us. Billions have been spent in Afghanistan. This is the 11th year. I don't want to hear about any more war when teachers are being laid off, policemen also and things are just not good on the homefront.President Obama take my advise please draw down about 45,000 soldiers and bring out the remainder within the next 12 months.Too much heartaches and pain accompany wars. People first.

I heard the President's speech and I agreed with most of what he said. It must be reminded to the wealthy that no one is against wealth. What bothers some however is that some of these people seems to think they got there by themselves. We know that as the saying goes, no man is an island, no man stands alone. In wealth achievement I am sure in most cases it involves a great idea and much perseverance and sacrifice. In addition however it often depends on someone somewhere to bring this idea to greater heights and that often involves someone buying some product or ideas somewhere to bring these riches about. It is therefore shortsided for anyone anywhere to think that they became wealthy all by themselves. Time has proved to many of the haves that their money still doesn't buy them peace of mind. By sharing their wealth which would mean maybe paying a little more taxes to help assist in the running of the country and to help out someone who might need a hand how could they frown on tis idea? Kindly remember wealth people, you did not get there by yourself. As the bible says as often as yee do it unto these of the least my brethren, you do it unto me. Wealthy America don't be so arrogant give a little. Because you can buy anything you wish does not mean that everyone else can. Some people have worked just as hard but have not been able to make it. As is said in 1st Corinthians, Chap.13. The greatest of these is charity. Don't be like a sounding brass wealthy people, help out someway in the ecnomy by paying a little more. You are the ones who will see even more wealth. If middle America and the poorer class don't spend there will not be as much wealth. If some people become even more conscious about how they spend their dollar there will be a lot less wealthy people.
Finally I trust that the President will follow through on what he says this time because we know it has been no picnic for him but there is a higher power, so all I ask of him is not to throw in the towel so fast when he's negotiating with the GOP'rs.Hold your ground do give away the store as they say.
Poor and middle class people are hurting. No jobs have surfaced from the GOP side because they are still holding on to their money but just remember there is a greater force in the world whether we want to acknowledge it or not.
